Reminder: Reservation meeting scheduled for Lopez Island

John Whetten, Lopez Island’s representative on our local Ferry Advisory Committee (FAC) has scheduled a public meeting at the Community Center on May 19 from 4-6 p.m. to give Lopezians an opportunity to comment and ask questions about ferry reservations. Representatives from WSF have promised to attend.

This meeting will follow a format similar to meetings held previously on Orcas and San Juan Islands.  The meeting will be sponsored by the County, WSF, and the FAC.  Please reserve the date and please, please attend if at all possible.  Also, please invite friends, relatives, skeptics, and happy customers.

I will be out of town on the 19th – the concerns I have are lines in Anacortes up the hill no being able to be sorted for reserved/nonreserved, and the issue of “losin” your reservation if you show up to try to catch an earlier boat, or having to go drive around (not be able to stay at the ferry landing) until the 90 minute window arrives.
