Evergreen State update

The interisland run continues to be impacted by the Evergreen State being taken out of service yesterday. The most recent bulletin, posted today at 12:58 p.m. appears below.

Ana/SJs-E-State OOS until further notice. Elwha to go direct 11:55am Ana>FH
The Evergreen State, which is the interisland vessel, is out of service until further notice due to necessary repairs. The Elwha and Yakima will help assist with interisland traffic. The late 11:55am departure from Anacortes will be direct to Friday Harbor. The late 1:50pm departure from Friday Harbor will stop in Lopez and Anacortes. Updates will occur as conditions change.

    Really difficult to understand what the “sailing late” means for the interisland runs.
    So, tell me why we need to implement an expensive reservation system, when our boats are
    aging and need replacing instead? Seems the reservation system is a diversion from what is
    really needed.
