What You Need to Understand About Our Ferry System- February 13

Tom Cowan, Lopez Island resident and member of the State Transportation Commission will be speaking on Monday, Feb. 13 in Friday Harbor at a public event sponsored by the League of Women Voters. The San Juan Islander posted this notice:

Learn “What You Need to Understand About Our Ferry System” from Tom Cowan at the next League of Women Voters of the San Juans meeting at noon, Monday February 13 at the San Juan Library. The LWV invites members and the public to learn about budget and infrastructure issues affecting Washington State Ferries.

Cowan of Lopez Island, was appointed by Governor Christine Gregoire to a six-year term on the State Transportation commission. He is chair of the county Land Bank Commission and was a county Commissioner.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization which encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
