Holiday Travel and Winter Schedule

WSF recently posted reminders about schedule changes during the holidays and the fact that the Winter schedule goes into effect on January 1, 2012. There are no planned schedule changes for the San Juan Islands routes through December 31, 2011. The Winter schedule is similar to last year’s with a few minor adjustments in sailing times. The main thing to remember is that there is no weekend inter-island service during the winter.

You may also want to check out a new feature on the WSF website. Click the Vessel Watch link on the Home page. Click the route you’d like to view under VesselWatch Views in the left sidebar. Not only can you see icons showing the current position of each boat, you can also click on the boat’s icon to see when it actually departed and its estimated time of arrival. Again, could be handy during heavy travel times or winter weather.

The entire WSF announcement can be accessed here.
