Sidney, WSF sign lease agreement for terminal

Via the Times-Colonist:

“Sidney council has approved a lease agreement of up to 20 years with Washington State Ferries to operate the municipality’s terminal and share capital costs…

“A key benefit will see capital costs shared for the Sidney-owned terminal. Currently, the municipality is 100 per cent responsible, but that will change under the new deal, Cross said. Washington State Ferries will be paying rent and taxes as well…

“The business community in Sidney and on the Saanich Peninsula are eager to see the ferry service maintained. Discussions are underway with the Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce to increase marketing.”
