Template for letters to the governor

If you’ve been planning to write a letter to the governor regarding proposed reductions in ferry service, fare hikes, and other issues related to the recent proposed budget, now is a great time to take a few minutes and get something on paper. The FCP has created a template you can use to get your letter written quickly and easily.

Not sure what to write about? The most important items to include are those that discuss first hand how service reductions will impact you, particularly as they relate to your ability to conduct business or get to work. You might also want to think about long term impacts such as reduced property values over time as it becomes more difficult to move easily to and from the mainland or between islands. You are also welcome to return to the post linked here and add your comments for Susan and Adrienne to forward.

This is too important to put off. Please take a minute or two now to write a letter or post a comment. Thanks!

Thanks for this. I like that it is not just a form letter that you plunk in your signature. It encourages us to individualize it by giving our specific reasons.

Thanks for catching that, Lance. That’s what I get for posting something too late in the evening! I went back, read through the template that was sent and believe I caught the typos in the original. The link here now leads to the revised draft. However, anyone who uses this draft template is welcome to make additional changes, as needed.
